Artist with diverse roots and diverse art
The art of WAYNE LE ONE reflects the artist's roots,
which are Native American, African American as well as European.
The artist feels at home in painting, dancing, poetry, sculpturing and designing furniture.
Walking on the different paths of art brought the artist
from Louisiana to Oakland, California
and finally to Europe.
After studying art at Merritt College, California
the artist spent some time in Florence, Italy
and traveled around Europe to learn more about the different European styles of art.
He also holds a Lester Horton Modern Dance Teacher's Certificate from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York.
Thus, the works are inspired by a lot of well-known artists:
Van Gogh, de Lempicka, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Klimt and Picasso as well as Martha Graham.
Amongst some European collectors the works
have also been sold to the
(Museum of Ethnology)
Exhibitions of the artwork took place in galleries and with well-known companies,
like Daimler, IBM and SAS.
Numerous vernissages and events like Jazz-festivals were enhanced by the artist's paintings.
The artist was often called a master of the IMPASTO-TECHNIQUE.
